Fa mesos que li balla pel cap què deu voler dir això de prelado doméstico de Su Santidad el Papa. Hi ha dues paraules que no li lliguen: prelado i doméstico. Quan va anar a la Seu, a Manresa, amb la mare, només va poder mirar i mirar una església immensa i el cerimonial que passava a l’altar. Amb prou feines li havien dit que era el dia que celebraven l’atorgament d’un títol, d’un honor, i que Monseñor Gibert és de cal Nicet, de Sant Fruitós. Les Escuelas Nacionales fetes fa poc als afores del poble, l’any 1959, porten el seu nom i també el van nomenar hijo predilecto. Al cap de temps, va saber que el nom complet era Mn. Valentí Gibert i Mensa, però encara no acabava de tenir clar això de prelado i doméstico, atabalat amb el record dels hàbits i dels uniformes, enterbolits pel fum de l’encens.
