Ha estat un dia desacostumat, estrany. De nervis. D’experiències contraposades. De barreja de sensacions que han acabat al pati de l’Instituto Nacional de Enseñanza Media Luis de Peguera. L’últim examen era el de gimnàstica, Educación Física. Abans ha tingut el de Formación del Espíritu Nacional. Dos fatus examinadors, professors fatxendes i perdonavides, l’Hernández i en Touriño. Això d’haver-se d’anar a examinar com a alumne lliure de batxillerat i fer totes les proves en un dia és ben enredat. D’una hora a una altra s’ha trobat amb l’irritable mossèn Domènech, de religió i amb el menyspreu del Fernando Hurtado, només preocupat per tenir l’àlbum de cadascú, amb els dibuixos fets en les làmines que ell mateix promociona. Set hores de passar d’una matèria a una altra. D’aquí a uns quants dies tindrà la cartilla de notes, amb els blaus d’aprobado i els vermells de suspenso. Ben diferent dels qui fan el mateix batxillerat, d’alumne oficial, a l’únic Instituto de Manresa i rodalies.
