Es tracta d’un estudi exhaustiu del treball periodístic de  Josep Maria Planes i Martí  (1907-1936) a Manresa abans que s’establís a Barcelona i dels articles que publicava a la premsa manresana quan ja vivia a la ciutat comtal. Hi surten tots els articles signats que publica a la premsa de la ciutat, un total de 62.

L’estudi d’Aleix Solernou, periodista del diari Regió 7, constitueix una autèntica immersió a l’etapa manresana de Josep Maria Planes. És un treball molt complet i de gran interès.
