El camp de futbol, de Sant Fruitós de Bages, toca a la carretera, la que va a Vic. A vegades les ratlles de calç hi queden mig dibuixades. És això: un camp i dues porteries. La calç i les xarxes s’hi posen per al partit. L’Ajuntament, la Casa Consistorial, ha demanat per fer un camp nou, es diu que una zona esportiva. On la faran? Doncs sembla que els diners no acaben d’arribar. Però l’any 1968 s’inaugura el Club de Tenis Manresa, prop de la Casa del Siquiaire, en terme municipal de Sant Fruitós de Bages. Sento a dir que ha estat així, que s’ha ubicat en el terme municipal perquè hi han destinat els diners de la somiada zona esportiva, els recursos que havien de ser per al nou camp de futbol. Potser això del terme municipal n’és una prova. I una altra seria una de les clàusules, en els tractes entre Ajuntament i Club de Tenis, dient que els escolars del poble podrien fer servir les instal·lacions, tracte que es va guardar ben guardat.
